For 2 years I was a Conference Manager at a Cambridge College and ran their venue services so I understand how venues work behind the scenes. For 18 years I've organised conferences, meetings and other events in the UK and throughout Europe. I therefore have an in-depth understanding of the process from both sides of the fence. This gives me a unique ability to assess a venue's capabilities and then work with the chosen venue to ensure a successful event.
There are lots of events companies in Cambridge, what makes me different?
I provide the personal touch at a sensible price and I'm happy to run even small events to make your life that little bit easier!
Over the past 20 years I've run over 40 major conferences. They range from smaller 1 day conferences for 80 people to week-long events for 400+. I've run them in ski-resorts, hotels, Cambridge colleges and purpose-built conference venues. I use tried-and-tested systems and my in-depth knowledge of conference organisation to manage your perfect event.
Do you need some admin help to run a scientific workshop in a lab, a training event or a regular meeting series? I can run your events so they are slick, professional and on-budget.
I am currently running the highly successful Hydra European Summer School in Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine. September 2019 will be it's 14th year. It is a residential course in Greece for 75 delegates.
In 2018 I was brought in as a consultant to run Homerton College's 250 Festival on 27th October. It was a free public event with over 40 activities and over 1500 people registered. I am currently working with Girton College to assist them with their 150th Anniversary Festival to be held in June 2019.
In 2018 I helped set up a new Cambridge events organisation called House of Cambridge. In September 2018 we ran our first event, "United!". It was the world premiere of a film called Magpie at Duxford Imperial War Museum. The event was a collaboration between the House of Cambridge, the Cambridge International Film Festival, the Cambridge Jazz Festival, Neon Moon and The Cambridge Cocktail weekend.
Perhaps you just need a little help setting up a registration system and managing delegate enquiries. That's no problem.
Do you need someone with experience to help you pinpoint the perfect venue and get it booked? I have 20 years experience of locating and working with venues.
Setting up the programme, securing the speakers and all the correspondence associated with that can be time-consuming. Let me take the strain.
From lanyards and name badges to delegate packs, delegate books and marketing materials. You name it, I can help create it.
I can run your entire event – from the budget, contracts and venue, to registration, marketing, delegate materials, sponsorship, attendee management and then being hands-on throughout the event.
Everyone knows that attending conferences/workshops with back-to-back sessions can be draining for the delegates (despite how interesting the topics). I always try and add an innovative (and inexpensive) extra to the programme to give delegates a lift and to help them network better. I've run night sledging, make your own dessert (after dinner), perfume making, ice-skating, igloo-building, segway tours, torch-lit snow walks...to name but a few!
A major barrier to many events for delegates can be the cost of the delegate fee. I'm adept at raising funding for events whether it be through corporate sponsorship or making formal applications for event funding. Sponsorship also helps make the memorable activities possible!
